CLÉ UNVEILS SUMMER ‘25: INTRODUCING A NEW YORK-INSPIRED COLLECTION, PLUS NEXT-GENERATION UPDATES TO SEVERAL CLASSICS

in advance of its planned expansion to NYC in 2025, clé has released ophelia, a colorful collection of glazed thin brick tile that lovingly celebrates the empire state.
a vibrant journey along the hudson river, ophelia channels the convergence of town and country beginning in the 19th century. with inspiration from the famed hudson river school art movement, the clé guild has created a series of richly colored, hand made, glazed thin brick in a palette that evokes the steely grit of the city as well as the natural beauty of the north.
clé named this collection after the homonymous painting, in tribute to the era as well as to her stunning breadth of color. available in 15 colors, ophelia is clé’s most expansive palette to date. among them are catskill clove, a bright, lush green; niagara blue, a deeply dark navy; and dutchess rose, a warm berry shade.
while laying down roots on the east coast, clé has also returned to its original roots in design with the creative evolution of its first-ever release: watermark. conceived by artist and clé founder deborah osburn, watermark’s hand dipped and stained surfaces were originally inspired by the japanese art of shibori. now, the original award-winning collection has launched its latest generation with production at the clé guild.
luca osburn, deborah’s youngest son, has grown watermark with the addition of two new clay bodies that expand their usability. a new palette of colors has been introduced, adding warmer, earthier shades alongside the atmospheric, aquatic original.
as the final flourish of the season, the clé guild has reimagined the acclaimed architect’s palette collection of thin, elongated bricks. the original architectural surface of the same name was prized for its matte austerity, neutral palette and subtle rusticity. in response to high demand, clé has taken production in-house, creating rich new glazes that offer the same qualities in expanded colors taken straight from the drafting board.
